Visit Kwala

Many Americans think that they can see a lion or giraffe roaming through typical African neighorhoods, or that African communities are too dangerous to visit. While you won’t see any of the wild life that is confined to Tanzania’s national parks in Kwala, most communities in Africa feature vibrant and hospitable cultures that are eager for visitors to learn from, teach and share experiences with, and invite into their homes for a cup of tea (chai) or coffee (kahawa).

NTC and the Kwala School Community actively encourage Americans to visit Kwala. Visiting a community such as Kwala is the most effective way to truly understand Tanzanian culture, whether you are leading a group to Tanzania, looking to add an exciting aspect to your family vacation, or an individual already working, living, or studying in Tanzania. Please visit our Exchange Visits page for more information on past and future trips to Tanzania and Kwala, and to find out how you can see Kwala for yourself!
